Ratargul Swamp Forest is called Sundarbans of Bangladesh which is located at FatehPur union under Goainghat Upazilla in Sylhet and very close to river Goain. It is one of the plant and animal diversity in the world. This forest is engulfed with crystal-clear water in most of the seasons. This evergreen forest overflows during the rainy season. Some parts of this forest are very small, so sometimes riding a boat could be tough. Whatever, it is the only swamp forest located in Bangladesh and one of the few freshwater marshland swamp forests in the world. The forest has been conserved by the Department of Forestry, The Government of Bangladesh for the last two years. This forest is flooded by the water coming from the Indian mountains only during the monsoon period and makes the swamp. Other times, it remains dry. The water of this beautiful forest is so clear that tourists can see the bottom layer of it. The level of water never remains the same in this forest. It depends on the level of rainfall.
